The Washington Capitals (1-1-0) host the Vancouver Canucks (2-0-0) at 7:00 pm at the Verizon Center in the only meeting between the two teams this season.
The Caps look to follow up their good performance in Saturday night's home opener, when they defeated the Chicago Blackhawks 4-2, led by league MVP Alex Ovechkin's first two goals of the season.
Vancouver has won two straight to open the season. They took a home-and-home from Calgary 6-0 last Thursday and 5-4 in OT Saturday night.
Sergei Federov is only one goal behind Alexander Mogilny's NHL record for goals by a Russian-born player of 473. Federov is already the points leader among Russian-born NHL players.
