Monday Round-Up

Some bullet-point style notes while waiting for a too-long road trip to end:
  • Coach Bruce Boudreau was selected for the AHL Hall of Fame to be inducted next year. His 316 ogals are 14th all-time in the AHL, while his 483 assists and 799 points are good for 11th in each category.

  • D Mike Green, F Alexander Semin and C/D Sergei Federov will all sit tonight against Minnesota.

  • G Jose Theodore will start against Niklas Backstrom for the Wild.

  • F Chris Clark will take questions and sign autographs at ESPNZone in downtown DC tomorrow night at 7:00 pm.

  • Minnesota has the league's top-rated penalty kill at 91.4% and the eighth best power play, but has zero PP goals in their last ten chances.

  • LW Alex Ovechkin has never scored against the Wild, one of three teams he has failed to "light the lamp" on. Los Angeles and San Jose, the Caps two most recent losses, and the other two.

  • After tonight, the Caps will have just one more contest all season outside the Eastern time zone (at Nashville).
