The Hershey Bears won their AHL-record 10th Calder Cup title, beating the Manitoba Moose 4-1 in game six of finals championship.

The Bears got goals from Andrew Gordon, Chris Bourque, Alexandre Giroux (15th of post-season) and Keith Aucoin.

Goalie Michael Neuvirth was named the 2009 Calder Cup MVP, turning away 24 of 25 shots in the clincher. He had a 1.92 GAA in 22 post-season appearances.

With South Carolina's ECHL Kelly Cup Championship, it gives the Washington Capitals organization league championships for both of their minor league affiliates.

HERSHEY: The Bears beat the Providence Bruins 2-1 on Sunday to draw the best-of-seven AHL Eastern Conference finals even at one game apiece.

Andrew Joudrey and Alexandre Giroux scored for the Bears, and Michal Neuvirth earned first-star honors, making 25 saves on 26 shots.

Hershey out shot Providence 39-26 and went 1-for-7 on the power play.

The series continues this weekend, with Games Three through Five in Providence. Game Three is Friday at 7:05, Game Four is Sunday at 7:05 and Game Five is Monday at 4:05 pm.

SOUTH CAROLINA: The Stingrays defeated the Cincinnati Cyclones to become the American Conference champions of the ECHL. They will face the Alaska Aces, champions of the National Conference, in the Kelly Cup finals.

The best-of-seven series starts Friday in Alaska at 11:15 pm ET. Game Two is Saturday at 11:15 pm ET. The Series comes to North Charleston, SC for Games Three through Five May 27, 29 and 30--if needed.

Alaska feature three of the league's top four scorers, Josh Soares (9-13-22 in 14 games), Colin Hemingway (7-15-22) and Alexandre Imbeault (5-12-17). South Carolina has a balanced attack, with five players in the top 20 league scorers.

The Washington Capitals made a pair of player moves today, one that alters the NHL roster, and one that shakes up the minor leagues a little. First, the major league move:

ARLINGTON, Va– The Washington Capitals have recalled forward Chris Bourque from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.

Bourque, 22, has played in three games for Hershey this year and has two goals and three assists. Bourque’s five points rank third on the Bears and tied for third in the AHL.

Last season Bourque accumulated 28 goals and 35 assists (63 points) in 73 games with Hershey. He is in his fourth year with Hershey and was a member of the 2005-06 team that won the Calder Cup under current Capitals head coach Bruce Boudreau.

The 5’10”, 177-pound Boston, Mass., native, made his NHL debut last year and played in four games with Washington.

With Bourque up, this definitely means Sergei Federov will be skating on the blue line tomorrow against New Jersey. The team hasn't announced any line pairings yet, so we'll just have to see how Coach Bruce Boudreau shuffles his line-ups.

Next, the minor league move. As reported by Capitals Insider, goalie Michael Neuvirth was reassigned from Hershey to South Carolina of the ECHL. Neuvirth had yet to appear for the Bears and there had been some consideration by the team to loan him out to another organization. Simeon Varlamov and Daren Machesney have made the starts so far for the Bears. Each has two wins in Hershey's 4-0 start.
